Did you recently see someone in a dream? Maybe somebody you know? Or somebody you never met in your life? It may have been a fantastic experience or perhaps the worst one!
Whatever it was, it has a hidden meaning that you need to know. Dreaming about people is common since that’s what we see every day. But what is weird about such a dream is its sense of reality.
Seeing someone in a dream and any further action(talking to them, going with them, etc.) seems too natural. It’s like you are meeting that person. Everything feels natural, even the talk, reaction, emotions, and touch.
Sometimes, it can get harder to believe what you see, but what you see may be something you want in real life! I remember going on a date with my crush in the dream.
And well, even though it was just a dream, it didn’t feel like one when I was in there. So, what does dreaming about somebody mean?
It can mean many things, but all those things are related to “YOU.” Why? Because there can be hundreds of people in your dream that may change, but you always remain there.
Therefore, the dream revolves around your feelings, emotions, personality, relationship, etc. It can be any of them, but I recommend you note your dream before I go in-depth.
It would help you fully interpret later on. If you just saw a dream and woke up in disbelief, you must note it somewhere. Otherwise, you will forget 90% of it till morning.
The detail of the dream is as important as the story.
You can record your voice or video if you don’t like writing. While you can record anything and everything, here are a few questions you must answer.
- Who was the person? Do you know them?
- What was their name? Did they introduce themselves, saying a name in a dream?
- Did that person is someone you recently saw/met in your waking life?
- What was their dream reaction (anger, calm, loving, etc.)?
- What were they wearing?
- Was there only a single person or group? Were they talking/interacting with you?
- Did you go somewhere with the person?
Once you are done answering them, it will be much easier to interpret your dream. But before I move on, I should give the general meaning of such a dream. Why?
Because most people don’t remember most of their dream, believe it or not, a vast majority don’t remember the events except that they saw somebody. For them, a general interpretation should be there.
Generally, someone in a dream portrays your feelings, qualities, personality, and emotions in waking life. Their presence may point to your feelings or relationship with them.
Now, let’s talk about what someone in a dream means.
1. Your Attachment Toward Them –
It points to your attachment area if you saw someone you recently met or somebody you are very close to, like your lover, best friend, parents, etc.
The attachment differs from person to person; as I said, the interpretation revolves around YOU.
– Seeing your Partner/Lover –
So, for instance, if you see your lover, it points to your love aspect, i.e., how loving and caring you are. Further, if you see fighting with them, it signifies your anger, irritation, and rage.
Maybe you are turning into a short-tempered person who gets annoyed easily. Your fight with them doesn’t signify having a real fight; instead, it says you lack the calm and happy aspect you had.
Apart from that, it can also mean that there is something in you that your partner doesn’t like at all. Maybe a habit or something that they want you to get rid of, but you don’t/can’t.
It can be your addiction, or maybe your laziness, or perhaps your joblessness, etc. It can also be something you don’t know about. Perhaps they never told you about that, but what you to change.
Your dream is a signal to look into what your partner wants.
– Seeing your Crush –
If, in your dream, you saw your crush and there was nobody but you two, then the interpretation depends on what happened next. If you are shy to approach them, then it shows your introverted or shy nature.
It’s saying that your nature will stop your progress in relationships and other areas.
Whereas if you approach them without fear, it shows your confidence level. If, instead, the crush approached you, then there is something you love about yourself, which you think everybody else loves too.
Maybe your intelligence, smartness, cuteness, way of talking, etc. Upon approach, if your crush said YES(i.e., she loves/likes you too), it signifies your confidence, respect, and acceptance.
Before you get thrilled with this dream, it wasn’t literal. I don’t think she will also say YES in waking life; sorry, but it doesn’t mean that. If she rejected you instead, it shows your insecurities, lack of confidence, and sense of rejection.
It may say you feel too low, which you shouldn’t be. This list can go long, so let me continue interpreting Family & Acquaintance with other people.
2. Your Emotions –
If the dream is a stage, all the people there are actors. With that being said, these people portray something. Earlier, we talked about attachment and what it can mean. Now, we will look at another meaning, i.e., Emotions.
There are people in everybody’s life that trigger an emotion. You feel different when they are close. The same rule applies in the dream; instead, it’s not about feelings for others but for yourself.
You may dream about someone you know or may not, but here, the only thing that matters is your feelings when they are around.
– Feeling of Love –
If you see a person and feel a sense of love, then it can mean two things.
If the person is known, it represents your love for yourself, but if the person is a stranger, it means there are some things you love about yourself but doesn’t know about.
– Feeling of Hate –
Similarly, if you encounter a person you hate or feel irritated around, it shows your hatred. Maybe it’s a sign that you are feeling irritated or have a sense of hate in your waking life.
Maybe something happened that is causing it, but your dream is a sign that these feelings are just not right for you.
– Reverse Emotions –
Sometimes, dreams show reverse emotions, i.e., it shows people according to the emotions in your waking life.
So, if you are stressed or feeling down in your waking life, then it shows people that are the reason for your stress. OR you might see people that have earlier caused you similar emotions.
The point here is that you must let go of these negative emotions. Just take it as motivation that if those people didn’t last, how on earth will these emotions will? So, take a deep breath, and let go of negative emotions.
Similarly, if you are happy in your waking life, you may see the reasons for that. OR you may see the ones that made you the happiest person. That can be your ex at some point in life.
So, you may see your ex and become confused about whether it shows the love aspect, happiness, or the hurt caused when they left. Of course, it cannot be obvious, but remember your emotion in waking life.
– Missing Something/Someone –
The third possibility is to see the person causing the emotion at a particular moment. Here, the emotions are different than love, hate, and irritation. These are care, nurture, good times, etc.
Such a dream only has precious people in your life, like your parents, family, best friends, etc.
If you recently missed your good times, your dream may take you to that moment. You go to the exact place, with exact surroundings, just like reincarnation.
It feels incredible but weird too. Similarly, you may dream of sleeping in your mom’s lap as a kid and others. Such a dream is just a sign of missing.
3. Self-Introspection –
In every dream you see someone, it’s related to YOU. But one common thing in all is that you are YOU. You see with your own eyes what is happening.
But sometimes, the dream can be weird. Weird enough to see yourself in the dream. There can be many versions, but the meaning is the same for all, i.e., Self Introspection.
If you see yourself, i.e., your body, in your dream, it says that you understand yourself better, more than ever; things you never knew are now revealed—your likes, dislikes, life path, essential questions, etc.
Maybe you are connecting to the almighty subconscious mind. Or you understand your soul, well, it depends on the dream.
If you see yourself from somebody else’s body, it shows empathy. It shows how you see everyone’s vision, which might signify that you are becoming a good leader.
But if instead of a body, you saw yourself from a soul(can be anyone), then it signifies that you are listening to your soul. It shows you are doing what you should and is a sign that you must keep doing it.
On the other hand, it’s also a sign that you must listen to your soul(if you aren’t). Maybe you are stuck on some decision or thinking of doing something but procrastinate.
Finally, don’t take it literally if you see yourself dead from your soul. It doesn’t symbolize your death; instead, it represents your transformation into a new person.
Interpretation of Family & Acquaintance –
This is the continuation of “Your Attachment towards them.” Earlier, we talked about other people, but let’s talk about seeing your Family & Acquaintances and what they mean.
Let’s start with your father. If you were recently missing your father and saw them in the dream, then it simply means you are missing them. The same goes for your Mother, brother, and sister, but only if you saw them.
If anything else happened, then its meaning changes a bit.
– Seeing Father in Dream –
If you saw your father in a dream and he was giving some life lessons (or motivation), then it can point to two things. You are feeling low, or your life is heading wrong.
Maybe you are doing something you shouldn’t or don’t want to do or are going through a lot. Your father is your strongest hero that points at your strength.
It might be saying that you are losing strength amid a hard time, which you shouldn’t.
– Seeing Mother in Dream –
If you see your Mother, then it shows empathy, love, and a caring aspect of you. If your Mother was happy and loving, then it means you are a loving person or are being one.
But if your mom was angry or sad, it represents your emotions in waking life. If she was angry, it represents that your anger may part you from the dearest people in your life, so you must control it.
And if she was sad, it meant you were going through something terrible or indulged in something she shouldn’t. Particularly something that you never thought you would.
– Brother/Sister –
Whereas seeing a brother or sister is a sign of closeness to people, i.e., you may love being with others. If you aren’t close to your brother/sister, it shows you are going away from someone.
Maybe you are leaving yourself, i.e., becoming someone you never were or never thought you would be.
– Seeing Acquaintances –
Seeing your acquaintances has a similar meaning as everything revolves around you. Seeing them approaching you shows how lonely or famous you are, nothing in between.
It can also show that you expect other people to talk to you. If you approached them, it showed your down-to-earth nature and that you didn’t underestimate anyone.
If the person brought a stranger with them and you all began talking, it means you have something working gossiping. Or you think you have something that everybody will be talking about. Maybe your new car, or beautiful partner, etc.
However, if you become invisible or feel ignored in that conversation, it indicates that you feel worthless or ignored in real life. Maybe you are overthinking what others may think instead of just doing it.
Or you are doing through a difficult patch in life, which can be anything. It can also be that you are depressed, thinking about one thing.
If the acquaintance is far, but the stranger approaches you, it symbolizes your emotions that you don’t understand, more like mood swings or something that causes a sudden change in your emotions.
If amid the conversation, you wanted to run off(escape the group), then it means you are indulging too much in something. Maybe you are working too much, so your dream tells you to rest.
Finally, if you dreamed of some older person, like your Grandpa or Grandma, it means you are becoming wiser or want to be wiser.
Seeing someone dead in a dream –
Seeing someone dead in a dream alive in waking life is the fearest dream of all. Not only is it horrifying but also unbelievable enough to make you numb, especially if it is someone close to you.
You may even wake up screaming in the middle of the night. But before you outburst in tears, let me tell you that it doesn’t point to the actual death of that person.
Some dreams give you a sneak peek into the future(rare ones), but that doesn’t mean your dreams will always be accurate. Instead, what it means is change and growth.
Since death is a sign of end and beginning, it can point to some new beginning or an end in your life(i.e., something will change). Maybe your relationship ends, you quit the job, you begin learning something, etc.
Simply, it says that some change will happen, either at the end of something or at the beginning.
– Seeing a demised person –
However, if you see a demised person, then it can have different meanings. If you look closely, we only dream of dead people nearby.
Never have I seen anyone dreaming of their dead neighbor or acquaintance, etc., because we don’t share a strong bond with them. So, the most straightforward meaning is what we call the visitation dream.
It is believed that dead people often visit their nearer people via dreams, so seeing one can mean that you spent time with them.
If they told you something, like some advice, implement it because they are far from the mundane world and know what’s right for you. Especially if they were parents, follow what they said.
If they didn’t say anything but just came in there, then it can point that you were missing them, so they decided to appear.
Some theories even say that dead people often reveal their secrets in the dream, but that’s only(mostly) if the person was murdered, committed suicided, or had a sudden death. They can give you some precious insight or some perspective.
Don’t take it as a joke if you ever had such a dream. I remember my mom dreaming about her father saying – “Never worry or feel alone, I’m always here for you.”
After that and some other similar incidents, I believe that theory.
